Do you remember the last time you actually took something in for repair besides your car? Tell us your story.
the last thing we had fixed was a lamp. rewiring. by a friend.

I don't even take my cars in like I should!

Personally, I've never taken anything in for repair, not even a car (well, I don't charge my own a/c any more, car or home). I haven't found much that I can't fix myself --well, anything really-- it just comes down to a matter of cost, and in my old age, time and effort. These days I don't really feel like spending my free time working on a car (or fixing anything else that shouldn't be broken in the first place) and I'd be inclined to take it in if it needed a major repair, but now I've got grown kids who can't afford to waste money on car repairs, and find myself working on their cars.
